Past Events
The list below offers just a glimpse into the many events, community gatherings, trainings, and educational opportunities DVPN has hosted over the years. Countless more moments of connection are still to come.
Annual Commemoration
Remembrance & Resilience:
Many wonderful community members, survivors, and loved ones attended our Remembrance and Resilience event on October 29th, 2025. This was a labor of love and we’re so honored to have created a space to remember lives lost to domestic violence. In this ceremony, we honored victims of domestic violence in our community by reading their names aloud and lighting a candle for them. Loved ones were invited to share memories as well, allowing us to more fully remember each person.
Along with amazing speakers, art, and interactive displays, our attendees worked together to weave a community tapestry, exemplifying how people can come together to create something beautiful.
Remembrance grounds us. It helps us heal what’s been harmed, hold what matters, and center those who deserve safety and care. In domestic violence prevention, remembering each other is an act of resistance and hope. When we can provide welcoming spaces for people to heal and grieve together, we’re strengthening these core pillars of DVPN’s mission, and therefore strengthening our community.
It is our hope to hold more events and spaces such as Remembrance & Resilience in an effort to bring more awareness to the severity of domestic violence and how important prevention work is.
On the other hand: No more names to read. This is our goal.
When a community comes together, it’s a beautiful thing. But, it’s our hope that in the future, we don’t have to commemorate any more lives lost to domestic violence. Instead, we hope for no more lives lost, no more persons harmed – no more names to read.
There’s a lot of work ahead, but we sincerely thank you for coming on this journey with us so far.
Annual Night with the Network Fundraiser (2014-Present)
Every year, we host a fun evening of food, drinks, music, games, and auction items for community members, stakeholders, advocates, and any community members lending their support to enjoy. We invite our community to be part of our mission to combat domestic violence by purchasing a ticket, donating monetarily or through raffle donations, or with a generous sponsorship.

Project HEAL
Through our Project HEAL (Hearing and Empowering Survivors through Art) initiative, we hosted various workshops throughout Central Indiana, bringing projects that participants can work on while learning about art as one method to healing. These workshops led to A Night with Project HEAL, an art show that was held on the first Friday of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 2024. Workshop participants chose to have their pieces on display or for sale at the show (100% of sales on pieces created by survivors went back to the survivor). Some workshops included: Planter Decorating & Potting, Collage Making, Mosaic Making, and more.
In 2025, we partnered with Damien Center during DVAM for an art showcase about healing and resiliency. Also, some of the artwork from the workshops in 2025 were showcased at the Remembrance and Resilience event.
